Set Default Android Browser’s Homepage to Most Visited Sites

The default Android browser page is a boring Google search box that wants to know your location. Here’s how to change this setting so that a “new tab” displays all of the sites you visit the most.

The default Android browser page is a boring Google search box that wants to know your location. If Google is what you use the most on your phone, then this isn’t a bad thing. But if you’ve got several other sites in your repertoire of frequent visits, then a different home page can dramatically improve your mobile browsing experience. Here’s how to change this setting so that a “new tab” displays all the sites you visit the most.

With the Android web browser open, press the menu button and tap Settings. In the following selection screen, tap General.

Under General, tap Set homepage. Now tap the bullet titled “Most visited sites.” The setting will be saved; just press the back button to out to your browser.

When you open a new tab or browser window, it will show a list of your most visited sites. Not only is this a helpful page for quickly browsing multiple sites, but it also loads much faster compared to the slower-loading Google search page.
