How to Fix Disney Plus Not Working in Chrome

New more affordable Disney+ ad-supported plans are coming to countries in Europe and Canada in November. Here’s what you need to know.

The popular streaming service Disney+ is rolling out ad-supported tiers (and bundles) in select locations across Europe and in Canada beginning on November 1st. Subscribers can also expect new pricing for subscription tiers when the new plans are released.

The United States saw the rollout of its ad-supported tier in December 2022, and it’s coming to Europe and Canada in a few weeks. In Europe, the new tier will be available to subscribers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark.

The price of the new service will start at £4.99/€5.99 per month in Europe and $7.99 per month in Canada. Or, in Europe, you can pay £79.90 annually for the standard plan or £109.90 for the premium subscription.

Disney Launching Ad-Supported Tiers in Europe and in Canada

The new Disney+ standard ad-supported tier features up to full HD 1080p with the ability to have two concurrent streams in 5.1 and stereo. The premium plan will have up to 4K UHD and HDR video with four concurrent streams and Dolby Atmos sound.

Existing customers in Germany can retain their current subscription at the same price with the option to switch to the standard ad-supported plan.

Disney exec Joe Earley notes, “The strong momentum of our ad-supported plans in the U.S. demonstrates the importance of providing consumers with choice, flexibility, and value. We are excited to expand that offering in more markets across the globe, including in Europe and Canada, and to launch a new premium duo bundle of ad-free Disney+ and Hulu this fall as we take steps toward making extensive Hulu content available via Disney+ later this year for bundle subscribers.”

Overall, the new subscription tiers will allow users to choose the plan that fits their budget while not missing out on any of the exclusive Disney content. Disney+ includes content from Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Nat Geo, and more.

The ad-supported standard and premium plans offer access to the full library of original and library content, create profiles, concurrent viewing on up to four simultaneous streams, and video quality up to 4K UHD.

If you aren’t a subscriber yet or don’t want to wait for the new tiers, it’s never too late to subscribe to Disney+. In addition to exclusive content, the service provides several user options.

For example, you can download videos for offline viewing to watch while on the go. If you want to ensure your kids get the best content for their age, you can create a kid’s profile.
