All things cost more and that includes your streaming services. Disney is raising prices for standalone and Disney+ bundle subscriptions.

Your bill for streaming content continues to increase as many services bump their price once or sometimes twice yearly. This week is Disney’s turn with its individual plans or bundles. The company is increasing prices for standalone services and most bundles with Disney+.

The price hikes will take effect on October 17, 2024, for most individual and bundle plans. In fact, all bundles except the recently launched Disney+, Hulu, Max bundle, and the Disney+, Hulu (No Ads) will see a bump in price.

While prices are going up, more content is being added that will be refreshed monthly. Beginning September 4, subscribers will have access to ABC News Live and curated playlists that provide more shows from the company’s portfolio. It includes children’s shows from popular franchises Marvel and Star Wars.

New Prices Arrive on October 17, 2024

You love your Star Wars, MCU, Pixar, Nat Geo, and other programs. You also like watching your favorite TV shows the next day on Hulu. If you are a sports fan, you probably also appreciate ESPN+. It’s all wonderful to watch; however, like other streaming services, the price is going up.

The content is going to get more expensive, and that includes some of your favorite bundles. Still, to get the most bang for your buck, choosing a bundle is still your best option. Here is a look at the new cost for individual services and bundles starting mid-October.

  • Disney+ With Ads: $10/month
  • Disney+ Without Ads: $16/month or $160/year
  • Hulu With Ads: $10/month or $100/year
  • Hulu Without Ads: $19/month
  • Hulu and Live TV With Ads: $83/month
  • Hulu and Live TV Without Ads: $96/month
  • Disney+ and Hulu With Ads: $11/month
  • Disney+ and Hulu Without Ads: $20/month
  • ESPN+: $12/month or $120/year

  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ Without Ads: $25/month

Streaming Price Hikes Annoyingly Happen Regularly

Streaming services were much more affordable back in the day, costing much less than traditional cable. However, once original and existing content kept being added, prices started to increase regularly. For example, the company last increased prices in October 2023 and before that in August 2022. So, price hikes seem to come on an annual basis.

To be fair, Disney isn’t the only company increasing the price of its streaming service. Netflix has increased its prices on a near-annual basis, with a premium plan that cost $17.99/month in 2020 currently $22.99/month. While a cheaper service, Paramount+ has also had modest increases of $1-2 per month, based on the plan.
